All gifts made on Giving Day 2026 will be matched by an anonymous donor to the Cancer Discovery Fund.

Did you know that cancer is the second leading cause of death in Tennessee? The CDC reports that Tennessee has the 21st highest cancer incidence rate and the sixth highest cancer mortality rate in the U.S.

In 2025, we launched the Cancer Discovery Fund, and all Giving Day donations, no matter the designated area of support, were matched by an anonymous donor to help build this resource.

Dollars in this fund have already supported innovative faculty and student research through a new grant program led by Vice Chancellor for Research Jessica Snowden, MD.

At the inaugural Tennessee Statewide Cancer Collaborative scientific meeting in October 2025, six $50,000 Cancer Discovery Fund grants were awarded to advance cancer research statewide

Help us build on that promise today by participating in our 6th Annual Giving Day. By making a gift to any area on campus, you're also helping expand vital cancer research, as we are continuing the Cancer Discovery Fund match again this year.
