Rural hospital closures nationwide, including 16 in Tennessee, have made access to quality health care increasingly difficult. The UT Health Science Center College of Nursing is responding through its rural health education program, Mobile Health Units, and specialized rural workforce training. These efforts prepare future nurses to serve communities impacted by a lack of local health care. Supporting the College of Nursing’s Rural Health Educational Programs helps us continue to train the frontline providers who are writing a new prescription for rural care and health outcomes.
